Anonymous submitted: I think that a lot of people are unhappy w/ Ubi is because they were expecting a Desmond game since it hinted pretty hard at the end of Revelations that it would be focused on Desmond and not some new guy.
Don’t get me wrong, I would have loved a Desmond-centric game, as Desmond has been my favorite Assassin since day one. But I really like the idea of it. If Desmond doesn’t get his own game, then I’ll be fucking pissed, but the way it’s going now, I’m happy. I’ll be happy with them taking whatever kind of pace they want to, for as long as they can. Besides, they’ve already confirmed that “Assassin’s Creed III will see Desmond become the ultimate Assassin,” and Desmond has been getting larger roles in every game, so I’m thinking that a good portion of the game will feature Desmond out of the Animus, doing things himself, and may end with a cliffhanger tied with Desmond being all like “Okay, I’m fully-trained and I’m ready to fuck shit up now. Bring me Templars.” Besides, a big part of Assassin’s Creed is them needing to go through ancestral memories to find out more information. Both Ezio and Clay have both been directly instructed by Those Who Came Before to help Desmond. This last Assassin will most likely have a similar mission. It’s just going to make Desmond more and more powerful, and will give him even more abilities to stop the Templars with.
Basically, I’m fine with waiting as long as I have to for a full-fledged Desmond-centric game… As long as I never ever ever ever ever have to play as Ezio again.
